About to die from exposure and just well, its the fuckin feywild, he's found by a nascent fire spirit who bonds with him, saving his life. He grows up in the feywild, ending up pretty feral and disconnected from society. He stumbles upon a gateway back into the material realm.

He was a reflavoured dhampir, the bond with the elemental and years of general feywild exposure being the justification for the powers. I mostly just wanted the free spider climbing, tbqh.
