I've also noticed that many people not trained on the chevron acog (or can't be bothered to even read the manual) don't realize that the chevron and lines represent the shoulder width of an average military aged male at their respective ranges. So you can't roughly gauge your targets distance by putting the edges of the chevron or lines on someones shoulders.
