family isn't easy. in fact it can be extra hard, when you love someone and they've hurt you it can be extra painful. not saying that's the case with you. in fact they might feel guilty and ashamed, can't bear to face things. i'm sorry things are that way with you, mine is pretty bad too, i just skipped a major family event last month, mostly out of spite. it was a cross-country travel for me but i could have done it, and i'm skipping something else later this year, also out of spite. not saying your siblings are right at all, just saying that you might not understand everything, and healing takes more than just an invitation sometimes. but you're doing right by your parents and you should feel good about that. you're hurt now but when you're better you should try to mend things, would start with the rift between your bother and sister. but again, be warned, it will be extra hard, feelings run extremely deep with family and can be very complicated. and i'd go if i were closer john, michigan is very far for me though.
