the issue is that genshin gets pretty much nothing, no good action sequences, no hype/aura moments, no tearjerkers, no well written scenes, fucking nothing
if you think about it genshin's story is a complete nothingburger so far, we're 5 years in and the plot literally didn't progress a single centimeter, we barely know fuck all about what matters while wasting time solving irrelevant problems in each region

the fact they announced genshin is entering an entire year of filler content because they noticed we're at the supposedly "endgame" but the traveler is still an irrelevant jobber who knows fuck all, while HSR's story is progressing nicely, the endgame bosses are laid out, the final objective is clear, and every arc introduces massive twists and development for the main characters, is absurd
