This thing is an Espimon! It's likely higher-ranking compared to the others, but it's the same wheedling little rat. While it gets mauled outside, you pull out one of your camping lights and illuminate the partition. It's always a destructive affair when the walls defining a partition are removed. Everything inside has been subject to a data implosion of sorts, damaging the wall textures and warping the wireframes of furniture. The odd geometry continues as you move deeper in, with triangular scars on the floor and holes in the furniture. You put your goggles on and notice countless little traces.

The workshop has already been raided. Rookies have combed through it, and everything illegal has been snatched. Doc provided instructions on where his well-hidden stuff was, but the first few items on the list are all missing. They've been thorough.

You pause to listen to the sound of fighting from outside. There's plenty of metallic clanging, and you're sure that your partner is delivering a beatdown against the trapped vehicle. Your gamble paid off. There was a decent chance it was a different sort of Rookie, and that might have been the end of it.

You reach Doc's terminal. As you wave your hand in front of it, it comes to life, taking you by surprise. You didn't expect him to have an unsecured public-use terminal right here in his living room.

It's not on the list, so you head past it and continue looking. While you try and find his hidden projects, you think about the terminal a little more. It makes no sense that he'd be using one, when he could just pull out his own screens and displays. Something must have happened to it when the partition collapsed. Maybe he jailbroke a public one and configured it for its own use. Now that it can get a signal from the outside, it must have linked to the greater network and reset itself to factory settings.

You head into the same room that you slept in during your brief stay. It's unrecognizable due to damage from the collapse, and with no unified lighting, the inner sanctum is pitch-black. You're almost at the bottom of the list now. One of the last items is a cracked prompt window underneath the bed. You slide it out and enter the password, causing a segment of the wall to open up. You gather the revealed files and place them in a zipped archive, taking care not to peek at Doc's private storage. He really wouldn't be happy if you started rifling through confidential data, especially if it involves customer records.

A sudden flash of cyan passes across the hallway. You turn and squint at the door, suspicious of a potential Espimon attack. Maybe he had invisible backup. The freeze code comes to your fingertips, and you wait for a few seconds. When nothing emerges to ambush you, you slowly tiptoe out into the living room.

Nothing. No electronics are active apart from the terminal. You head back to the exit to see how the fight has been going.
