I think that's better option. The thing that fucks me up about dying is that what if you are still aware for some time after your death? What if your "soul" is still there, with you feeling everything after the death. Feeling when they burry you or cremate you. Feeling of bugs and maggots infesting your mortal shell/being burned. Then still being aware of a skeleton/ash is all that remains and you keep being aware.
