>OK then why not just more drones?
This one has a smaller, more classical technological footprint.
You need a lot of equipment and training to fly and maintain drones and their systems and sometimes you don't want that stuff in the hands of others either - I'm talking about communication systems mostly.
It's easy to deploy too - takes one day to disassemble so they can send it somewhere in a C-17, then another day to assemble. Everything is there, just fly it away and bomb sand people, cartel people, african pirates or whoever needs to learn a lesson.
Since it's a modified crop duster, you can even spray coca farms with it if you restore it to its original purpose.
Overall, think of it as tool that lets you do something right now instead of planning and asking for help from others.
