A warm breeze rustles the leaves of the trees lining the street, sunbeams scattering through the branches.

“Let’s go get some food! Since we’re a wolf pack now, we should eat wolf food!! Let’s go to Wolf Burger!!!” Clover suggests excitedly to her new pack-mates. It seemed her self-confidence had been boosted quite a bit from the fortunate turn of events!

“Ah.” Lorene hesitates for a second. She’d already eaten out yesterday with her friends, and even fast food was fairly pricey nowadays. However, looking at Clover’s excited grin, she couldn’t bring herself to raise any objections. She just wouldn’t get anything. She wasn’t that hungry anyway. “Sure, let’s do it!”

“L-let’s get a group photo, first, to mark the occasion!” Samantha chimes in. Without even looking to see their reactions, she pulls out her phone for a group selfie. Clover beams, smiling happily for the camera, tail wagging behind her. Lorene instinctively raises her hand to shield her face. Samantha slips her phone back into her pocket. “Let’s go get some grub!”

“Eehhh? But wolves don’t eat grubs, they’re gross! We’re gonna be getting burgers instead!” Clover grabs Samantha’s hand and begins to happily drag her along.

“That… that’s just a figure of speech, Clover.” Shaking her head with a wry smile, Lorene follows from behind.
