Yes. It's very self contained and it follows the trend of other Anime doing it. Also it's cleaner to split Part 1. Fitting Reze into Season 2 would mean it'd need to be more episodes

Longer to animate just because of the animation change.
And we'd probably be getting Season 2 (including Reze) right now if not the movie.

Also, a movie would make more money than a normal season. So this is better for S2 and Part 2
