My meditation sessions are usually sitting in a dark room, with my eyes closed, doing box breathing for 15-20 minutes. Box breathing is when you Inhale, hold your breath, exhale, and hold your breath again for 4 seconds each. While meditating you're supposed to try to keep your mind silent and think of nothing or focus on the thing that you're trying to manifest.
If you're just starting I recommend that you try to do what I described but start with shorter sessions. Other methods should be fine as long as you're focusing on nothing/keeping your mind silent or something you're trying to manifest.
