So, with a thought you telepathically tell your wife your plan after you decide to reach out, to reconnect with the one and only Joseph Joestar.
“Hey, Joseph, it's me, Karn. Are you busy?” you think out, trying to reach out mentally to him. Wherever he may be. “Was wondering if you could lend a hand with something.”
“Oh, and the voices are back.” comes the reply, something immediately feeling... Off. As if his mind is distant, but also shielded somehow. “Hello voices, lovely day isn't it?”
“Joseph? Are you okay?” you reply, raising your right hand to your forehead as you try and focus on his energy through the telepathic link. Your wife, seeing you raises a brow but doesn't say anything as Okira and Strange Brew talk, something about books? But your focus is on the link, and the strange state you feel the elderly Joestar's mind in. “This is General Karn, is everything okay? Do you need help?”
“Help? Why, yes, help would be rather nice.” comes the reply, you focusing harder on his energy. Which is significantly weaker than you remember, which is a worrying sign. “I could surely use a hand.”
“I'm on my way.” you reply, focusing on his energy. And with a thought vanish, leaving New Salda behind. Reappearing in an unfamiliar place, finding yourself standing beside a table. The ground under your feet slightly moving, as if in a ship flying through some minor turbulence. But across from him sits a younger man, one you don't recognize. Who notices your arrival immediately, jumping back at your appearance.
“Gaaaah?! Wh-What the hell?!!” the young man shouts, summoning his Stand. It appears between you both, you immediately catching the resemblance to certain other Stands. It is a muscular humanoid figure like Joseph's grandson Jotaro's Stand, immediately setting your instincts off. This one's trouble, even if the boy's power isn't any real threat. What you remember of Jotaro's power is he was a few orders of magnitude more powerful than this young man. Yet your instincts are warning you not to take him lightly. “Who the hell are you? And why are you here?”
“I'm General Karn, and I'm here for Joseph Joestar.” you say, turning to the older man. “Speaking of, how've you been? You've certainly aged since we last talked.”
“Oh, the voices were real this time.” the old man says, appearing somewhat senile. But as he talks, for just a split-second you see a gleam in his eye. You remember Joseph as a clever old man, and now, for whatever reason, he's seemingly pretending to be going senile. Which you have no idea WHY that is, but you can tell that this is all some sort of elaborate ploy.
