The game has the same PvE/PvP damage balance problems of a lot of games. Enemies deal pathetic damage but have massive HP pools, while our dolls deal insane damage but are hyper squishy. As such, my underbuilt SPAS doesn't even care about cover and can eat hits like pizza on horde maps, but I don't even bother with PvP when all my dorks get onetapped by stray AoE.
Of course unless the devs see this as an actual problem then dps powercreep will ensure things only get worse
