Clanbat arc seems really disconnected from the second half in retrospect. I miss the melancholic tone and sense of tension from that first half. The first half also seemed way more edgy than the second half. Sure, tons of people are dying now, but they're either mobs we don't give a shit about and/or really bad people, like Miguel, Gihren, and Cecile. In the first half, you had a PTSD mom die senselessly, but not before realizing that she was wrong, then a literal traumatized prepubescent slave soldier killed like nothing. Even the Binarys, despite being jerks, probably didn't deserve it as it was ambiguous whether they were trying to kill. Yes, they were electrocuting Nyaan, but we don't know for certain if they were actually trying to kill her with it. Every single one of their shots afterwards were aimed at the head, despite having plenty of opportunities for cockpit shots. The second half just moves way too fast to actually feel anything, and you have Machu acting like a goof. It's almost ZZ-like, in a way.
