The second plague pandemic is also known as The Black Death. It was imported into Kaffa in Crimea by the Golden Horde in 1347, then into Italy where it was able to rampage first scross the Mediterranean then through the Near East and Europe. Most people know about this one specifically so I won't get into detail about it.

The third plague pandemic started in Yunnan in China in 1855 before spreading to the rest of the world. It didn't end until 1960 when the death toll fell to below 200 a day.
