What happens is that there's a bump limit of 300 replies, where after a thread hits 300 replies it will no longer bump to the top of the catalog but you can still reply. This is to prevent a thread to hit too many replies causing it to load slowly. Similarly there's a 300 image limit for each thread. If a thread no longer bumps and is almost at the bottom of the catalog, simply create a new one.
