“And Jack In?” You had assumed that the extent of her involvement in this misadventure was the modifications to Nines’ chassis.
“Your hacker, ‘Jack In’, she seems like she knows here stuff. Her presence during the connection would make Nines’ digital conversation with the battle AI… persuasive.” You can’t quite make out Hail’s expression in the scuddy backroom light. “Permanently persuasive.”
“You’re not planning on just sabotaging their AI systems…”
Alexander Hail raises his gaze, eyes locking with yours. He has that eerie, deathly smile of his. That grinning-skull expression that you have come to equate with having some truly diabolical calamity pointed the Savis Empire’s direction.
“No.” He speaks in Imperial pidgin, his adoption of the xenos bastard tongue a mocking, hungry rasp. “So tell me, Snake Eyes. Do you want to steal a Titan?”
