the ox was the symbol for god
when the israelites came out of egypt they made an idol of their god
an ox

>I am the Lord your God, the one who brought you out of Egypt where you were slaves.

god got made not because he isnt the ox but because he was jealous
but the people when they thought "god" they thought of the ox

the idol being an ox was not the sinful part, it was the worshiping an idol that was bad
the true lord almighty doesnt dwell in idols
