>‘temporary pass’ for immigrants in certain industries, like farming
Oh great, more can kicking. Thank you trump!
Crazy idea but why aren't we using children / teenagers as labor for maintaining crops and fields?
Think about it. We could knock out so many problems prioritizing the new generation to become self sufficient instead of flooding the country with slave labor who in turn fuck like rabbits creating a vicious cycle of more welfare siphoning, mouths to feed and demographic threats
If children learned to grow crops worked the fields we could completely dismantle the current education system in favor of an agricultural trade school curriculum for children aged 9-16 or thereabouts. Literacy rates are already the lowest recorded in decades, they don't read books anymore, our educational system is completely useless as is, not to mention covid lockdowns provenly fucked over kids and masking likely fucked up the mental development of 1-3yos. Why proliferate funding to something proven to not work anymore? scrap it all and start from scratch. The post ww2 golden age of teenage culture and freedom has been dead and gone for a decade+ now too, there's no point forcing them to participate in an obsolete means of generation rearing.
This concept can extend to minimal hazard manufacturing jobs too. I'm sure the gay sons and girls would love to learn to create clothing or participate in hands on crafts, all while earning money from their work easing financial burdens on families. Plus all those schools serving as farms would give an immense boost to local economies, we could very easily genetically modify any crop to grow and never have to rely on foreign imports.
All this would significantly help to curb the obesity crisis and force kids to get off the computer and literally touch grass.
