I get most developers want to push the boundry today and only work on the latest models, but it would be so cool if each developer for each console had a dedicated retro team that still works with previous consoles. Like, devs could still work for the ps5 and pc today, but also have a retro team that still makes and supports games from the 90s/previous consoles. I'm sure retro fans worldwide would love it. I know I know, it would cost too much, the upkeed would be unecessarily complex and tiresome, and the payoff would be minimal because most people by then would have moved on. It would be so cool if CEOs realized their previous consoles/franchises are still beloved. But knowing reality isnt like this, its just sad. I know we do get glimpses of this, like Pokemon gen 1 pandering, or retro/classic mini consoles/rereleases/remasters of old games and whatnot, but what I mean is still developing and caring for old systems in tandem with current gen. I remember everyone wanted the 3DS to die and couldnt believe everyone urged nintendo to cut support for it. Then when it happened, everyone acted sad all of a sudden. lol? its just sad. whatever. Wish it wasnt like this.
