If aliens were real they'd be from our solar system. Travel between stars is just too much space and time that you're more likely to find the remnants of a dead advanced civilization than encounter a living one. But, if they're from our solar system, like say from one of the ice moons of Jupiter. They could see the climate below Antarctica as good real estate. But the implications of that being true would mean that they are terrified of us and wish to remain hidden from our gaze and our ambition. We're the giant scary monkey demons to them. Or, they're just demons.
