They're cunts to him for maybe two volumes, because they've literally been raised to believe that "talent" is the only value a person can have. Anything beyond that is pretty much just them lashing out because they're embarrassed, which Yuu is perfectly aware of, so he knows not to take it seriously. But besides that, the fact that they aren't just perfect angels and have some negative aspects to their personality is what makes them fun and interesting as characters, and also makes it doubly funny whenever Yuu takes them down a notch. There's a reason Rumiko Takahashi writes stories about assholes instead of nice guys.
