1. Someone else incurring a financial loss.
2. The money for the profits being created and introduced into circulation.
If 2. then that causes inflation, which reduces the purchasing power of past and present income and savings of most of the population. So profit taking is stealing from most of society through inflation by reducing the purchasing power of most of society's past and present earnings and savings.
