Both DMC units are Gen3 attackers with only Verg being "needed" because he's the only Physical Attacker for now. Lucia exists as an alternative to Dante

Yato is the anti-brainlet operator for people like me but isn't necessary once you get your account built, especially when you have a Texas. I'd say that Lena is worse in that regard since her utility is unmatched and flexibility is unmatched to this day.

GBF has already been mentioned but iirc GF1 had something like it but I forgot which dolls it were. Nikke is partially guilty of it although it's moreso DPS having big dick damage than the support they provide.
