You're right but not correct. JP bubbas gaslight themselves into thinking Amsnoreus is good because they're have to actively engage with it via reading subtitles and need to convince themselves all of it was not a complete waste of time. They are literally forced to consume the script regardless of quality. This is also why they slurp up the complete lack of storytelling and presentation, because their eyes are glued to the bottom of the screen reading for 90% of the time. Meanwhile anyone experiencing the story in a language they understand realize that it is a complete dud of storytelling that utterly fails to enrapture anyone.
