I'm installing vinyl plank in the roughly 750 square foot area highlighted. Initially I decided to lay the planks perpendicular to the door starting at the door, running parallel to the stairs but then I realized that I have an 18 inch wide structural wall between the living and dining rooms and if I lay the planks that way it would be a real bitch going around that thing and keeping the patter consistent, but it would also make rug removal a lot easier and I could work in smaller chunks. It's also my understanding that it's best and less time consuming to place the planks parallel to the longest wall, which was my original plan. I've only ever done small spaces. Should I lay the planks perpendicular or parallel to the door?
