What I really dont understand about those maps itls why they only tend to show the feudal reality in the HRE and Italy. In 1650 only France was a real territorial nation state. The rest of europe was a decentralized clusterfuck with many very asymmetrical forms of power. Especially in the Ottoman empire which is always shown from an habsburgian pov. The kings of the POC tended to be extremely weak and thats what enabled the nobility to form a very free and stable political system. Electing foreign nobles as kings who are not part of rhe szlachta is a smart move if you compare it to the neverending feudes among powerfull houses in the HRE. Yet with the rising centralized territorial states the golden feudalism was doomed
