>FOMO (there's a lot of limited content that's forever closed off if you don't grab it when it first comes out), sunk cost fallacy, and my friend's list. I'm friends with a lot of whales who spend tens of thousands of dollars on the game maxing out all of their servants and craft essences. If I were to quit, they would delete me.
As someone who plays the game daily and likes it a lot - none of these things matter. Even if you were to come back later they don't matter. Rate ups happen again, so even if a servant is limited, you will always get another chance. JP is literally running a year long campaign where every single servant will be rated up at least once. And if it's not that then the only other limited thing is event story, and you can't seriously be saying that you both hate the story and would have FOMO for missing event story.
Sunk cost fallacy is just that. A fallacy. Investing more time into something you dislike is a bad thing to do.
Your friends list doesn't matter. Whale support lists are not valuable in this game. In 99% of scenarios, all you need your friends to have is the meta supports, which is NOT something hard to find new friends with since most of the people who play semi-regularly have them. All a whale list is going to do for you is give you access to, I dunno, a hyper stacked DPS for 1% of nodes where a very specific DPS unit is especially good.
Everything you described is defined by mental value that only matters if you are invested in the game. But if you dislike it, you shouldn't be investing yourself in it.
