Hours later the metallic blister of Ypsilon-14 becomes visible on the Meridian Hauler’s visual feeds. You aid Parker in piloting the ship on final approach.
A large, squarish silver blister reveals itself as the Hauler’s lights pass over the dark rock. Three subsidiaries balloon off the main mound, like secondary infections.
“Wow, love the way it glitters.” Eliza is pressed up against one of the viewports rather than looking at the subpar visual displays.
“It’s a standard layout, you’ll see many more if you stick with space travel.” Parker voice emerges from the pilot’s seat he’s draped with an ancient leather jacket.
“Main hub, two hard-vac hangars, and a crew quarters module.” Quentin says, further back in the cockpit, leaning in towards one of the screens. “Is one of the hangars full?”
“Indeed, Serviceman Quentin.” you say, pulling up a map of the facility of the main display. “The Heracles, a science vessel brought by Researcher Giovanni approximately a month ago.”
“Just ‘Quentin’ please, Welther.” The marine gives you a strange look.
“Hah, didn’t deal much with droids in the service did you?” Parker chirps.
“Dealt with them plenty, but never this sort of model. What were they thinking, human face with those discs for eyes and solid blocks for teeth?”
“They were thinking ‘it’d be cheaper to use flat nanolenses and pressed metal, and they’ll be fine. The uncanny valley, where’s that?’” a giggle from Eliza. You can’t see it, but you know Parker will be smirking.
“Anyway, dunno about the service models but you’ll be hard pressed to get this one to change.”
>Choose 1
>Observe Quentin to see how long it takes for your eyes and teeth to produce outward signs of discomfort.
>Turn back to the display and carry on with taking the ship in.
>Consult Welther design notes and relay what the engineers were thinking
>Attempt a hail of The Heracles, it is vital to get in contact with Dr. Giovanni as soon as possible.
