>Stop that girl from making a mistake.

‘Being a good person doesn’t make someone less of a dumbass.’

Lorene silently watches the exchange between Clover and Samantha. It had been rather obvious ever since the restaurant- Samantha wasn’t a magical girl. She had no ring, had been bumbling her way through every conversation cue, had no clue what her magic even was; no matter how you looked at it, she was almost certainly just a regular girl. Clover had been overtaken with joy at having a pack-mate, so Lorene had been humoring it up until now, but there was a point when things couldn’t be allowed any further.

Clover and Samantha are holding hands as they walk back down the alley toward the doorway, their wolf ears twitching in unison. The regular girl still had tears in her eyes, but her gaze held some small amount of determination. The wolf-girl just walks with her silently, unable to do anything in the face of her bravery.

Lorene grimaced. …This was how it always went, wasn’t it. She always had to be the big bad. The girl closes her eyes for a moment, forcing those unnecessary thoughts to the back of her mind, before stepping into the middle of the alley to block their way.

“…Samantha. This is out of your league. You need to go home.”

The two girls come to a stop. Clover glances at her pack-mate for a moment, giving her hand a comforting squeeze, before letting go and stepping aside. Samantha just stands there, rubbing her arm anxiously, not daring to meet the girl’s steely gaze. “…I can’t. I can’t run away anymore. There’s something I need to do.”
