funny enough as pic related says demon basically just meant spirit. of course Christians don't call the holy spirit the 'holy demon' instead the Greek word Christians used was pneuma. "Hagia pneuma"
Another important part of christian mythology is the assertion that all pagan religions that may seem like they predate Christianity or are inspirations of Christianity are in fact actually just copying Christianity somehow or are 'anticipations' of Christianity. One way this was asserted why by forging oracular prophecies that spoofed Greek gods / oracles affirming christian beliefs. The Christians werent the first to do this, the jews where already doign the same beforehand keep in mind the levant where conquered by the Greeks for hundreds of years it was in thier interest to do this. pic related is an example of this, though it is very common in that time period. funny enough later these "theosophies" as some call them, where shunned or hidden as some of them are pretty ridiculous
