For example, I just finished downloading master and commander, a 12g file, and It SAYS seeding in qbittorrent, but it also says 0 upload speed, so I can't tell if I'm actually helping or not

Am I retarded? Is there some setting I have to mess with? I was under the impression that I should just leave the files up for a time, which I have been doing, but I don't see any numbers go up after the file is on my computer
I don't wanna be a filthy only leecher. Also, as I'm new to torrenting, I'm assuming that the specific files I downloaded have the "magnet link" in the metadata, right? So in the future, if I reupload this same file to a client, it'll generate with that so it keeps that specific torrent alive on the internet? If not, then how do people reupload with the same magnet? Do they have to copy and paste the link into a text file and keep it next to the movie? Do magnet links change? I don't see how that would make sense
