They made the game more demanding after the patch btw, by about 3-5% (3% main menu, 5% ingame), same settings, I even checked if any UE values had changed after dumping the cvars and it was unchanged aside from some irrelevant things like batch shader processing amount.
Their optimization seems to apply r.Streaming.MipBias=1 if the automatic benchmarker detects your gpu has sub 8gb vram. That's it. It's more like a cheap hack than optimization because all it does is load textures 1 level lower than it should.
