Thinking about it, I don't think he'll go full SEA and get killed for it. If they just wanted him dead they'd have confirmed his death at the end, no Cruz remnant or anything. And I doubt they'd set this up for him to return only to die "again" in an event where he's likely to play a smaller role. Being so schizo already might save him.
