homophobes didn't force the idea that to be gay you have to be an annoying faggots, it was trannies who worked hard trying to prove the stereotypes right and portray masculinity as toxic (unless it's an ugly woman doing it)
so understandably a lot of gay and bi men hide their sexuality because they're normal people who want to live normally and don't want to have anything to do with trannies
