Not a fan of chink greeble but there are valid arguments for making mecha not as completely smooth and featureless as a fighter jet. I just want details to be designed with an actual purpose
Like something like pic rel is pretty detailed and unorthodox but its basically made out of nothing but mechanical muscles made out of multi layered leaf springs, radiator fins everywhere for cooling, and some armor plates so it makes sense.
I think that's what's ultimately important to me, that the design is memorable and that each element feels like it has a purpose.
