Honestly Artifact Recovery can't even be called barebones, it lacks an interesting theme, in terms of powerups it's boring, doll selection is restrictive to some weird 0 synergy lineup, stages are some random varniggers plopped in a map and the UI is slow.
They could have made it interesting by replacing the functions with items that have some flavor to some like you know ARTIFACTS, a background setting like B.R.I.E.F. sends you into the yellow zone to recover them. So many things they could have done.
