Ballistic Missile Punches Through Kyiv Apartment Building, Minister Says

A Russian missile slammed into a five-story residential building in Kyiv during an overnight attack on Monday, penetrating all floors from the roof to the basement, according to Ukraine's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
Speaking from the scene in the city's Shevchenkivskyi district, Klymenko confirmed the direct hit and described the catastrophic damage. "This was a direct missile strike... it flew over a taller building and into this five-story one," he said in a televised broadcast.
Preliminary assessments suggest the weapon was a ballistic missile fitted with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead. Rescue operations were underway at 15 different locations across the capital, involving 400 personnel and 100 vehicles. The strike on the apartment building resulted in at least seven fatalities, with two people reported missing and seventeen rescued from the rubble.
