Caesar will know of Hawthorne shortly and you can’t deny the pull of getting multiple tons of military equipment for very little effort. So you decide to pull the trigger on the operation and approve the use of the Legion strike force.

But some questions still remain. You run through the plan formulating in your mind. You’ll land with the chosen force a 90 minute march to avoid anyone at the depot from noticing the Vertibirds. The attack will commence with half of the Legion force surprise targeting of the outer defenses, taking out the hard points and any lingering patrols. The other half of the Legion forces will then assault the main buildings of the depot, seeking to cause confusion and take out most of the military infrastructure in one attack.

If this is successful, the vertibirds will move closer but still outside of the base’s view and troops will begin to haul the crates towards the landing zone by hand. Already you’re starting to see glaring issues with the plan. If you bring the transport any closer to the base, the survivors will see legion soldiers using vertibirds, but you suppose that’s not your problem.

The problem comes down to numbers. How many NCR soldiers will be at the base, how many Legion shock troopers do you take with you? The more soldiers you take the less room for gear, but the less soldiers you have and the harder this mission will potentially be, not to mention who will help move the crates to the vertibird.

You remember seeing trucks being worked on at the main depot building but who’s to say it will still be there and if it’ll be functioning, and that’s assuming the Legion doesn’t blow it up during the initial assault.

You push these doubts aside. You prepare a briefing for the Legion soldiers and the Brotherhood pilots, using your memory to trace out the surrounding terrain and the base layout. It won’t be perfect but you weren’t particularly impressed with the defenses of the depot anyway.

After a few days of sketching out the depot and discussing with Daisy the specifics of the vertibirds, you’re almost ready to assemble the Legion and Brotherhood commander. There’s just two questions left for you to answer.

>How many Vertibirds will be filled with Legion Shock Troopers? Maximum of 60 can be taken to fill all Vertibirds

And of course…

>You’ll be hitting the main depot defenses near the administration buildings. The toughest fighting but that’s what you’re built for. If these NCR soldiers can get fully deployed, the operation will most likely fail.
>You'll be hitting the edge of the depot defenses. This part of the mission has to go smoothly and relatively quietly or else the whole point of this operation is moot.
>Neither. While the Legion throws their bodies into the fire, you’ll be sneaking in and accessing that bunker. In the fighting, no one will give much notice to some sounds coming from a lone bunker
