Agreed on classic and simple being best, however I prefer Arabic numerals for consistency. I don’t like that IIII is preferred in watchmaking over IV for 4, it ruins the symmetry having only a single numeral that contains four I’s.
Also I personally think those massive chunky angular hands with no number indices and near-monochrome extremely busy dials are borderline unreadable in certain light conditions. I think minimalism can quickly become a retarded gimmick, and often make the watch look inferior. Same with the Rolex thing of randomly slapping a shape on the end of the hour hand.
The Omega speedmaster is one exception in that style because I think the hands and indices are properly sized aesthetically, and the tachymeter is sexy as fuck.
