you saw how lazy they were with dan and march's design, they did not bother designing armor for dan, so they just altered his existing design
the difference with cyrene is that she's based off an existing character and her playable form needs to match that
meanwhile opal is an original character that has no need to have an adult form be made for him

it's more effort to design an adult version, because you have to change the characters proportions to fit them and redesign everything else to fit the new body type
it's much easier to just reuse the kid model since they already have a design for him
