My dad was pretty based. Had me at nearly 40 but provided for me all the way until I left home at 18 and helped me with money troubles in my late 20s. We're not as close as I'd like but I think I lucked out compared to a lot of fatherless lost souls

Anyway just be thankful you're alive and can try to succeed him if he's still in your life or not
