A lot of you guys wanted more Western content. That includes Western writers. This is what you'll continue to get, and the style of Western writing that you all probably enjoyed way back when is dead due to cultural rot.
Sonic characters are Japanese, even if they have some Western inspiration. Japanese culture and tropes are embedded into them. So when someone who just doesn't care about those things writes them, doesn't bother learning how the characters differ from Western tropes, it'll be off. It's a bit like attempting to fit a square peg into a round hole.
