Despite there being more anime than ever, there seem to be even less completed adaptations. Long running battle shonen only get yearly 24 episode seasonal anime episodes(MHA, JJK). Arcs of less popular works are getting adapted into movies(CSM, Maid Dragon). And the majority of seasonal anime is only 12 episodes. Some not even having full run times, ranging from 3 -12 minutes. Even the hentai I watched was only 7 minutes.

Why has anime gotten so short, despite making more money than ever? What caused this to happen?
