personally i tag pretty comprehensively and aggressively; not about that "1girl" life.
i also don't churn through random noise seeds over and over, i tend to try to refine prompts for one noise seed, so that i can get more experienced with the actual effects of the tags.

depends on your model, but, as long as you're tagging a character consistently, with tags for figure and maybe facial features, play around with the weights, and, introduce an artist or combo or artist tags, and then consistently use those artists with that character, it'll give it some distinctiveness across gens, i find. this is especially true if the characters outfit or features are not themselves super distinctive
