They push that narrative for several years, then realize that it's fucking Chun-Li over so Capcom just hastily says "she left the Interpol' (keyword; LEFT, not quit) and later go "ACTUALLY IT WASN'T THE INTERPOL, IT WAS THEIR MEGA HITLER SECRET BRANCH THAT WAS DOING ALL THE UNWHOLESOME THINGS" but the damage has already been done, and they can't bring Chun-Li back because "SHE'S ACTUALLY BUILDING A SAFE SANCTUARY FOR THE POOR BABY PSYCHICS". Eventually they give up, never mention Chun-Li again and make a Chun-Li clone (Black Asian Muslim woman from Taiwan) as a replacement for SF6 who is completely seperate from this mess and all the newcomer fans just regurgitate "But le Interpol is le bad!!" piece of shit story until the old fans are gone.
