Yeah, I feel that the salient point is in relation to reality vs ideology. The ideologue will sit there, chant slogans, be virtuous in following the ideology of the day. The more reality based individual will engage with their survival instinct and make choices that lead to their survival, and a genetic future. I guess it's the difference between being ideologically sound, virtuous and dead or disobeying the cool-aid for the masses and avoiding dangerous situations.
