I am always impressed when patriotic Americans actually are knowledgeable about the flag code. The flag code explicitly states that putting the US flag in vulgar contexts, such as casually wearing it, is strictly prohibited. the vast majority of jingoistic Americans have no idea and proceed to use the flag in a variety of undignified ways.
