Amem. In my country, we have none of this pretense of goodness. We know the world is hell, and it is every man for themselves. So we just roll our eyes when the authorities claim to be good or anyone claims to be acting on anything besides self-interest.

Life is much better when people pretend to be good, and are just sincere about being evil. In the end of the day, evil people still need to get things done, so an arrangement has to be made.
