how would YOU respond if YOU made a little creation and they started to try to build a big ladder to come kill you? wouldn't you just.. i dont know, blip them out of existence or something? and yet, it shows us that our Creator's mercy is everlasting, and even STILL He chose to show mercy to them. if it were me, i don't think i'd be able to handle such a grave insult, and my pride would have led to them getting smooshed. but it just goes to show you that i'm a flawed human, not an amazing and merciful and loving Creator. and so.. YHWH destroyed the tower of babylon and scattered the people around the world "like leaves". and it's said that this is where language basically comes from, as our tongues became babbled from babylon. instead of working together in unison being able to share the same thoughts via the same language, YHWH decided to complicate things by adding the inclusion of languages, dialects etc. it's honestly an entirely separate rabbit hole, but it's my personal belief that it was potentially even possible to communicate non-verbally before the tower of babel. i mean, herds all flee together, birds all migrate in the same direction, dolphins and whales travel in packs.. it seems like all the rest of the living creatures are able to speak without speaking.. why not humans too? it may have been something that was taken away from us, replaced with language to complicate things. and if YOU were an evil cult and could no longer use language to communicate, how would you let others know your allegiance? images! symbolism, this is why symbolism is so prominent and profound, there are SO MANY ancient symbols we still see today ALL OVER
