yeah like what would even be the motivation for you to write your book, it probably won't make you rich or famous and won't help much even if you just use it to brag or flex the fact you wrote a book on like tinder or social media or whatever and that's the thing - you have to actually like writing books in order to write a book, you have to enjoy sitting down for like 5 hours a day every day documenting your thoughts and observations and studies to then glue them together into something more presentable and cohesive and zoomers just don't do things like this at all anymore, that guy's point about spending a whole summer to just tinker around with photoshop's colour levels and curves to just get good at it for no reason and develop a new skill just for the sake of curiosity and challenge resonated with me really deeply because i realised that holy shit yeah we just don't fucking do these types of things anymore because everything is instantaneous now, everything happens in one click and there's just no need to do any of that and our expectations regarding everything that happens today are greatly distorted exactly because of this and i have experienced something similar myself recently when i started growing like evergreen room/desk plants because i just think they're cool and i like greenery and i want a room full of beautiful lush plants and i used to always overwater them because my zoomer brain just couldn't deal with how slowly they grow and how deliberate and thoughtfully calculated and timely this process is without any immediate reward or any immediate apparent gain, i wanted them all grown up by like tomorrow and realising that and going through that experience really changed how i view things and how i do things and it happened just like a month ago and i'm already running out of reply space again which is really frustrating because i can only address one thing at a time which isn't even really that relevant but alas
